Challenge
Kullaloo, a brand new company focused on handicraft patterns and sewing tutorials, struggled initially with low brand awareness and a very small social media following. Their early attempts to grow Facebook fans failed to produce viral sharing or significant engagement, limiting their reach in the early stages.
Solution
To address this, Kullaloo launched their first Facebook contest—an Essay Contest themed around “Children quotes”—which aligned with their brand’s values and was designed with a low participation barrier to maximize entries. They supported this contest with a targeted Facebook ad campaign spending 15 Euros per day to amplify reach. The combination of an engaging contest format and paid promotion drove the campaign’s success. Wishpond’s platform allowed quick setup, easy integration with their blog, flexible adjustment of campaign features while live (like toggling Like-gating), and provided detailed analytics.
Results
Within just under three weeks, the contest attracted 79 participants and boosted their Facebook Likes from 300 to 2,646. The campaign generated a potential reach of over 12,600 leads and gathered complete data on their target audience. Kullaloo noted the experience of working with Wishpond as very positive, highlighting the ease of campaign setup and the valuable control and insights offered by the platform. Encouraged by these results, they planned to run a follow-up photo contest to continue engaging their audience.
Why Wishpond?
Kullaloo valued Wishpond for its fast and flexible campaign setup, the ease of integrating contests into their blog, and the access to comprehensive statistics which helped optimize their marketing strategy in real time. Wishpond’s ability to adjust features live and provide clear analytics was especially useful for a new company managing a small budget and setting up their first social campaigns. The platform helped them overcome early growth challenges and achieve impressive social media expansion in a short time.
