WHY DID I CHOOSE TO COMPETE WITH NPAA?
Deciding to compete again in the NPAA was an easy decision for me. Actually a planned one. I competed in my first NPAA competition in May 2012 and was elated to place 5th in Fitness Tall category. I decided to start training for that show a week after going back to work teaching grade 1 full time post maternity leave.
WHO DO I HOPE TO INSPIRE?
After making it to the stage again in May 2014, along with my good friend who had a baby the same year with me, I saw the dramatic positive change in her life. So my hope is to inspire other moms like her out there who think it might not be possible to take on such an amazing journey. Often us busy moms put our needs last and I can honestly say that getting into shape and eating healthy is the best thing I could do myself, and my family. I also want to show my kids that a healthy lifestyle is important and that it is something we make time for as a family. I am not dragging myself through the day after eating cookie dough, chocolate and really anything in sight all afternoon to keep myself going. I have a ton more energy to be there for my students at school and family.
MY FAVOURITE BODY GROUP TO TRAIN?
A huge success for me was seeing abs in place of a big baby belly. Hence core is one of my favorite body parts to train.
MY FAVOURITE CLEAN EATING SNACK?
Kale chips (one of my son's favourite too!)
MY LONG TERM ATHLETIC GOALS WITH NPAA?
I love dreaming big, so I am planning to keep going with a half-marathon and potentially a full marathon in November. I hope to continue on my fitness (life) journey with the NPAA next May, if that is what the future holds! Once you have started competing it is hard to stop, feeling good is addicting!

WHY DID I CHOOSE TO COMPETE WITH NPAA?
I chose to compete with the NPAA after speaking with friends and acquaintances and hearing about how wonderful their experiences were competing with the NPAA. After competing with them myself, I am happy to say that this organization is extremely well run and organized, fun, understanding, and honest.
WHO DO I HOPE TO INSPIRE?
I hope to inspire those who have waffled at the idea of competing, but are unsure. My thought is, just do it! What is stopping you? Set the goal, and work for it. It is one of the most satisfying feeling to accomplish such a life consuming goal. The second person I wish to continue to inspire is, myself. It might sound odd, but on days where I feel I can’t train, or it’s too hard, or I want eat a chocolate cake, I look at my trophies and past contest pictures and I tell myself, I can do this! I have done this before, and I can do it again.
MY FAVORITE BODY GROUP TO TRAIN?
My favourite body group to train is by far shoulders. There is nothing like training delts. I feel powerful, accomplished and JACKED after shoulder day. Rear delt fly is my favourite exercise
MY FAVORITE CLEAN EATING SNACK?
My favourite clean eating snack is a cholcolate mug cake with nut butter topping: In a large mug, I mix 1 scoop chocolate protein powder, ¼ egg whites, a tablespoon of pumpkin puree. Microwave 25 seconds and top with a tablespoon of peanut butter. OMG!! :D
MY LONG TERM ATHLETIC GOALS WITH NPAA?
I am hoping to achieve more exposure with the NPAA. Already, I have had amazing experiences in figure and fitness model categories, twice on the NPAA stage, I have received my Elite-Pro card in figure, I have made the poster advertising the October 25 2014 BC Championships, and now, I would love to be featured in the NPAA magazine and eventually achieve IFPA status!

I chose to compete with the NPAA because of its values. Wendy and Kevin prioritize their family, and create a sense of community at every show. The staff at NPAA are personable and genuinely caring. As well, it is a drug-free association which I like.

I hope to inspire women who desire to maintain balance with their family, children, spouse and career. It IS possible, and competing can be achieved with the proper mind set, planning and focus.

WHY DID I CHOOSE TO COMPETE WITH NPAA? This year I took the stage for the NPAA Canada Classics for my second time. I love the organized and professional manner of the organization which is why I came back.
WHO DO I HOPE TO INSPIRE? After competing, I started receiving a ton of messages from friends and even stranger who asked me how I did it, how I transformed my body, and what's my secret. People I never even met or some I never really talk too, told me how achieving my goals has inspired them to finally do the same and get into shape and feel good about their bodies. It would give me chills every time I'd receive a new message, because though I did train and compete for myself, I had no idea how I was actually helping others around me. If I don't ever place in a competition, or win a medal, the fact that doing what I love as hard as it is, inspires others to do the same, makes it all worth it.
MY FAVOURITE BODY GROUP TO TRAIN? My abs, because they popped more than ever this time, or my glutes. My glutes are the hardest to train because I have a lot of leaning out to do, but I love the results of it once I take the stage to compete!
MY FAVOURTIE CLEAN EATING SNACK? If I wasn't so addicted to peanut butter and I could control my intake a bit better, I'd chose that as my favourite clean eating snack, but I'll pick cucumbers dipped in cinnamon and stevia as my choice.
MY LONG TERM ATHLETIC GOAL WITH NPAA? As any girl competing with NPAA would say, I'd love to one day win my Pro Card with NPAA, but my main goal with training and competing is to one day be sponsored.

WHY DID I CHOOSE TO COMPETE WITH NPAA?
NPAA's values resonate with mine. It is very important to me, as a professional, a single mother, and a volunteer soccer coach within the community (for my two young sons) that I compete with a federation that promotes natural fitness and adheres to strict drug testing protocols. Respectfully, NPAA actively adheres to the values of professionalism, integrity, excellence and community, and I respect this greatly.
WHO DO I HOPE TO INSPIRE?
It is my hope that I can inspire and motivate others to find their strength, by sharing my journey. I have faced extreme adversities, struggled with anxiety, low self-esteem, body image issues, and I’ve survived years of emotional, mental, verbal, physical and financial abuse from a very long and unhealthy long term relationship. Today, I see myself as a role model to other women, in my role as a professional career woman, mother, soccer coach, fitness athlete, and part-time Graduate student. As a mother, I hope to inspire my two young boys to continuously strive to do their best, whether it is in academics, sports, fitness, music or the arts. I also see myself as a role model for today’s youth as a volunteer soccer coach within the community.

WHY DID I CHOOSE TO COMPETE WITH NPAA?
I chose to compete to prove to myself that I am capable of achieving what I thought was impossible. I needed to break through all my fears and phobia's and set the ultimate goal for myself. I specifically chose the N.P.A.A because of the associations amazing reputation. The N.P.A.A well beyond exceeded my expectations and I have nothing but positive feedback.

WHY DID I CHOOSE TO COMPETE WITH NPAA?
I chose to compete after having my second baby. I wanted to get into the best shape I could after having kids. My close friend and colleague competed after her first and inspired me to go outside of my comfort zone and do something I never dreamed I would ever be able to do. I choose the NPAA because I wanted to keep my training all natural. I wanted to eat and train naturally.
WHO DO I HOPE TO INSPIRE?
Knowing how incredibly busy the life of a mom is I have also leaned how important it is to do something for myself. If I could inspire anyone I hope other moms can be inspired to just take some time for themselves whether that is to workout or just having some quiet down time to pick up a book read. Just find out what it is that is time all about you and schedule it in, it really makes an incredible difference.

I would love to compete in at least 1 more NPAA show, after placing in my first show it would be fun to see what I can bring to the next level. As for a more long term plan I am going to continue setting goals and working toward them. Making sure that I continue to always have that something that is just for me. It makes me a better mom and wife!

WHY DID I CHOOSE TO COMPETE WITH NPAA? I had heard great things about NPAA from friends that had previously competed in NPAA. That the association had great sportsmanship and everyone involved worked very hard to make the competition fun for the competitors. After working so hard I wanted the day I competed to be fun, memorable and professional. On competition day everything ran smoothly and it was a truly incredible experience.
WHO DO I HOPE TO INSPIRE? I had hoped to inspire friends, family and really anyone I met along my way from training leading up to the show to competition day. I’d hoped having people see me put myself out there and push my limits to achieve my dreams would inspire them to do the same. Be it stepping in the gym for the first time or taking the first step toward making a lifetime dream a reality.
MY FAVORITE BODY GROUP TO TRAIN? I love training my upper body, biceps and triceps in particular. I feel strong when I train my upper body. It also helps fuel me to keep up the training when other women approach me at the gym to complement me on my arms.
MY FAVORITE CLEAN EATING SNACK? My smoothie bowls, it’s like dessert for me! I’m known for loading up my smoothie and smoothie bowls was superfoods like goji berries, chai, cocoa beans and maca. Clean and delicious.

WHY DID I CHOOSE TO COMPETE WITH NPAA?
I like that it is an all natural competition so everyone is on a even playing field, equal competition level, that there is strict guidelines and drug testing related to that. It is very organized, and also nice that it was close to home. I also liked that there are the height categories and the opportunities to advance. The atmosphere was great and everyone was so friendly and nice. I had also had a few friends compete with NPAA and they said it was a good one to do for my first time competing
WHO DO I HOPE TO INSPIRE?
all the girls/moms out there who don’t think they should take the time to make sure they are happy and healthy and want to feel good about themselves. I know we focus so much time taking care of everything else and others so if we can eat right and have an hour a day to ourselves to workout and thank our bodies then we should. i want the moms to know that they can do it with the right training, nutrition and coaches and support network. anything is possible and you can reach your goals!

well it may not be my favourite but I am working on my glutes and hamstrings a lot to bring up my butt so I have to say I am slowly enjoying those workouts more along with legs, it is making me feel better and stronger!

WHY DID I CHOOSE TO COMPETE WITH THE NPAA? The main thing that drew me to the NPAA was the fact that it is a natural competition. Upon further investigation, I became hooked on the professionalism and friendly atmosphere.
WHO DO I HOPE TO INSPIRE? Everyone! Especially those struggling to gain weight, as I have been there. Doing competition prep opposite of “the norm” was definitely a mental battle!
MY FAVORITE BODY GROUP TO TRAIN? Shoulders. One of my weaker points, I love working hard to see improvement!
MY FAVORITE CLEAN EATING SNACK? Protein rice pudding. Simply mix rice with a small amount of water and a scoop of protein powder (S’mores and cookies and cream are the best!). I think I could eat this all day!
MY LONG TERM ATHLETIC GOAL WITH NPAA? As I am currently focusing on making lean gains in the off season, I plan to compete in the Canada Championships in the fall with a bigger and better physique! My goal is to earn my pro card with the NPAA and eventually become a nationally qualified athlete =)

WHY DID I CHOOSE TO COMPETE WITH THE NPAA?
I chose to compete with the NPAA because I was inspired by my friend NPAA Bikini Elite Pro Kyla Gagnon. In the gym she's a force to be reckoned with. I've only ever heard positive things about the NPAA from her. Integrity being of the utmost importance to the organization is the clincher.
WHO DO I HOPE TO INSPIRE?
I want to inspire anyone who has ever felt shame for their body. Anyone who has ever felt "not good enough" in any aspect of their life. Building your body into something you are proud of is the most amazing feeling. I think the part of my fitness journey I am the most grateful for is being able to look at those I used to yearn to look like and be able to say "I prefer my body". I can finally watch a Hollywood movie or look in a magazine and not feel ugly because I now love what I have. I now love the body I built. If I can inspire others to build that for themselves, that is success.

MY FAVORITE CLEAN EATING SNACK?
I make this amazing chocolate protein cake using egg whites, oats, Magnum Quattro Chocolate Loooove and a bit of stevia and it's just amaze-fest. I'm also a huge fan of oat pancakes with banana and peanut butter and Quattro Vanilla. Really just any conglomeration of the above ingredients makes me food happy.
MY LONG TERM ATHLETIC GOALS WITH NPAA?
I have so may achievements I'm aiming for. I would like to step on stage better than last time, every time. To continue to inspire others. I've been coaching myself and have had many people approach me asking for advice with contest prep and just everyday fitness and nutrition. I'd like to further my education with nutrition and training so I can be even more helpful to people seeking the fitlife. Of course I would also like to earn my Bikini Pro Card and a sponsorship (hopefully with Magnum).

WHY DID I CHOOSE TO COMPETE WITH NPAA?
I chose to compete with NPAA because I was looking for a federation that would make my first show fun and exciting. I had heard amazing things about past NPAA shows and wanted to be part of it all. From the volunteers, to the Wendy and Kevin, the stage managers, every one kept telling me how organized, and on time the shows always were. I wanted to feel comfortable and be able to enjoy each moment of my first show to the fullest, meet new friends and create amazing memories.
WHO DO I HOPE TO INSPIRE?
That mom who feels lost. With two boys it was starting to feel like my whole life revolved around being a mom. I didn't have much for myself, and it was a lonely place. I want to be able to show all the moms out there who are in that place that they can have something. They can still be someone other than just mom. It is hard to imagine getting your body back after having two babies. But it is possible, and I want to show all the moms out there that it is.

I want, no wait, I WILL walk the pro-elite stage! It's going to happen! Why do I want this? For a couple reasons I guess. But the main reason is because it shows me I can. Sometimes I set goals and then I think to myself "really?! you really think you can do this?!". It is a lot of work to be stage ready. Prep, training, all of it. It's not always fun. But the fact that I can put all of that aside and keep my eyes on the goal shows myself how strong I really am. And I am proud of that. Competing with the Pro's is like the ultimate high five to myself. Kind of like "Yes, you did it, and you DESERVE to be here".

WHY DID I CHOOSE TO COMPETE WITH NPAA?
I chose NPAA because it was an all natural association, and I am a strong believer in that. Also knew that NPAA was family oriented and that really stood out to me as a mom of four beautiful kids ages 17, 14, 12, and 9. I wanted to present a physique that was all natural and stand up there representing all mom out there who sacrifices her body for the birth of her children.
WHO DO I HOPE TO INSPIRE?
I want to inspire anyone who reads my story, anyone out there who thinks that there isn't any hope to change their health and fitness around no matter what their situation. Moms, Dads, kids, Friends, Family, and complete strangers. If I can do this, anyone can!! You make the decision to change, make those sacrifices, find your discipline, dedicate yourself and get that passion! Set some goals and work hard each day towards then big or small. Along the way I promise you will fall and have to pick yourself back up but you will get there! Strong Mind, Strong Body!

Of course my glutes, claves and shoulders!! I love seeing small details carve themselves out when you add in clean nutrition and hard work at the gym!

Well for summer, I love some Plain Greek Yogurt, 1/2 cup mixed fresh berries drizzled with some Waldens chocolate sauce. Also I love anything I can have with some natural Almond Butter!!

WHY DID I COMPETE WITH NPAA?
NPAA is the most competitor friendly and drug free organization. Everyone made me feel so welcomed and comfortable from the day of the workshop to the moment of going on stage. As a professional dancer and now a fitness competition, I see myself as an ambassador of a healthy and active lifestyle. Through my actions (more than words), I try to lead by example. I truly believe that everything is possible if you are passionate about something and work hard for it. I want to prove that in everything that I do in my life.
WHO DO I HOPE TO INSPIRE?
Something that I thought would be my personal challenge turned into inspirational journey for many of my friends. I never thought that my personal goal of building muscles and walking on stage in bikini would be such a motivator for others. Yet, I realized that isn't only about me. The hard work, dedication, the time management, the energy management are just some of the aspect of competing. I am happy that though my active lifestyle, I am inspiring my friends to challenge themselves everyday and to live healthier and more active lives.

MY FAVORITE CLEAN EATING SNACK? It would have to be greek yogurt with berries. I love fruits in every shape and form, making the prep process challenging at times. But adding a bit of berries to my greek yogurt/cottage cheese combo hit the spot every time.
MY LONG TERM ATHLETIC GOALS WITH NPAA?
I want to show my girlfriends that they do not have to starve themselves or go on "fad" diets to look and feel great. I want to show them that even with very busy schedule, there is always room for exercise and healthy food choices. It is easy to make excuses for ourselves, but I want to see them take action and be accountable for their decisions and choices. I found this process much easier as I was acceptable for it to many people that followed my journey to the stage.

I hope to inspire athletes who haven’t competed before but have thought about doing a competition. I was so nervous to get up on stage but once I got up there it felt so natural and good to showcase the body I had worked so hard for.

WHY DID I CHOOSE TO COMPETE WITH NPAA?
I chose to compete with the NPAA because I believe whole heartedly in what the association stands for. Before competing, I attended one of their pre-competition workshops to get a feel for the association and I was blown away by how helpful, down to earth, professional, personable and supportive the NPAA Team was. Prior to registering for a show, I had specific questions about competing within the association and my inquiries were answered promptly in full. I felt as though the Team wanted me to feel prepared and supported as an athlete in my personal fitness pursuit. Not only does the NPAA have a mission statement and vision that resonates with my fitness goals, it is evident by the way the association operates that they intend to stick to their mission, their set values and want only the best for the future of the sport, as well as the athletes. Who wouldn’t want to be a part of this amazing community!
WHO DO I HOPE TO INSPIRE?
I hope to inspire people of all ages regardless of where they are in their personal health and fitness journey. My hope is to excite others to treat their body to clean nutrient sources and to enjoy various forms of exercise. Our bodies are natural machines; I say why not give them all the tools we can to help build and allow them to operate as well and efficiently as possible!

Competing or not, I will continue to be excited about looking after my body, expanding my health and fitness knowledge base, being inspired and hopefully inspiring others. Without a doubt, health and fitness is my passion and ‘this is our sport’!

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TO COMPETE WITH NPAA?
I chose NPAA as I am a strong believer that to compete in ANY sport you must be natural and in that the NPAA was a great organization to compete in. Also, I was advised by my trainer that the NPAA was a fantastic organization to compete in and must say that after my experience I must agree.
WHO DO I HOPE TO INSPIRE?
I hope to inspire my three daughters (aged 9,5 and 3) to try new and possibly non-traditional sports and to push themselves to excel no matter how uncomfortable it may be. I am not known as the girl who enjoys being in a tiny bathing suit and heels but I do enjoy molding and shaping my body to its optimum. I also hope to inspire similar people to follow a healthy lifestyle and to be a model for their family.
MY FAVORITE BODY GROUP TO TRAIN?
I have a love/hate relationship with training my legs. I love the pump and feeling of accomplishment when I train legs but have had issues with locking my jaw and neck pain from the pressure of the squat bar and its weight.
MY FAVORITE CLEAN EATING SNACK?
My favorite clean eating snack is cottage cheese mixed with blueberries and kamut puffs and protein powder. This is an excellent bedtime snack.
MY LONG TERM ATHLETIC GOALS WITH NPAA?
My long term goal with NPAA is to become an IFPA Pro and become a sponsored athlete so that I can compete at the highest level possible.

WHY DID I COMPETE WITH NPAA?
I chose to compete with the NPAA because I was looking for an organization that provided me a platform to compete and put an emphasis on competing as a natural athlete-this is something that is really important to me as I am proud to call myself a natural athlete. I had also heard wonderful things about Kevin and Wendy and was not disappointed. They are professional and demonstrate a lot of integrity which is reflective in their organization and competitors.
WHO DO I HOPE TO INSPIRE? I hope to inspire people who don’t think they have time to dedicate to a sport. My only affiliation with the fitness industry is as a competitor-I have a full life outside of this and am hoping to inspire others who feel like it’s too much to work in an office job and compete and find that balance. To me this is part of a life style that I enjoy, but again, it is only a part-balance is very key to me.

WHY DID I CHOOSE TO COMPETE WITH NPAA?
My first competition was May of 2013 with NPAA and I was inspired to compete with NPAA by the wonderful feedback I had gotten from competitors who had previously competed with NPAA. The organization is welcoming, encouraging and extremely helpful. Kevin, Wendy and their wonderful staff made my decision to continue to compete with NPAA easy. After my first appearance with NPAA I made another in their BC Classic show this previous May and am currently prepping to compete again, with NPAA!
WHO DO I HOPE TO INSPIRE?
Individuals who are about to start or are looking to start prep for a show and provide evidence that anybody can successfully accomplish prep, all the mental strength competition prep requires, you are capable of making it through. Most of all that a natural and healthy prep is the perfect prep.

The two years I have been apart of NPAA I have achieved a solid basis to the long-term athletic goals I have for myself. In my most recent show I was awarded a photo shoot with Ron Perron of Arsenik West Photo for "Most Marketable Athlete" in was an utmost honour to be recognized as marketable, let alone most marketable in the entire show. My photo shoot with Ron was my first professional photo shoot where I found myself loving the feeling of being in front of the camera. I would like to use my passion for fitness and my will to obtaining a admirable physique to market fitness and healthy living to my peers, grow my peers and play a role in motivating others to make healthy choices. Ultimately, my biggest goal is to accomplish a marketable physique and motivate others to reach their own fitness goals.

Deciding to compete again in the NPAA was an easy decision for me. Actually a planned one. I competed in my first NPAA competition in May 2012 and was elated to place 5th in Fitness Tall category. I decided to start training for that show a week after going back to work teaching grade 1 full time post maternity leave.
WHO DO I HOPE TO INSPIRE?
After making it to the stage again in May 2014, along with my good friend who had a baby the same year with me, I saw the dramatic positive change in her life. So my hope is to inspire other moms like her out there who think it might not be possible to take on such an amazing journey. Often us busy moms put our needs last and I can honestly say that getting into shape and eating healthy is the best thing I could do myself, and my family. I also want to show my kids that a healthy lifestyle is important and that it is something we make time for as a family. I am not dragging myself through the day after eating cookie dough, chocolate and really anything in sight all afternoon to keep myself going. I have a ton more energy to be there for my students at school and family.
MY FAVOURITE BODY GROUP TO TRAIN?
A huge success for me was seeing abs in place of a big baby belly. Hence core is one of my favorite body parts to train.

I love dreaming big, so I am planning to keep going with a half-marathon and potentially a full marathon in November. I hope to continue on my fitness (life) journey with the NPAA next May, if that is what the future holds! Once you have started competing it is hard to stop, feeling good is addicting!

WHY DID I CHOOSE TO COMPETE WITH NPAA?I chose to compete with the NPAA after speaking with friends and acquaintances and hearing about how wonderful their experiences were competing with the NPAA. After competing with them myself, I am happy to say that this organization is extremely well run and organized, fun, understanding, and honest.
WHO DO I HOPE TO INSPIRE?
I hope to inspire those who have waffled at the idea of competing, but are unsure. My thought is, just do it! What is stopping you? Set the goal, and work for it. It is one of the most satisfying feeling to accomplish such a life consuming goal. The second person I wish to continue to inspire is, myself. It might sound odd, but on days where I feel I can’t train, or it’s too hard, or I want eat a chocolate cake, I look at my trophies and past contest pictures and I tell myself, I can do this! I have done this before, and I can do it again.
MY FAVORITE BODY GROUP TO TRAIN?
My favourite body group to train is by far shoulders. There is nothing like training delts. I feel powerful, accomplished and JACKED after shoulder day. Rear delt fly is my favourite exercise
MY FAVORITE CLEAN EATING SNACK?
My favourite clean eating snack is a cholcolate mug cake with nut butter topping: In a large mug, I mix 1 scoop chocolate protein powder, ¼ egg whites, a tablespoon of pumpkin puree. Microwave 25 seconds and top with a tablespoon of peanut butter. OMG!! :D
MY LONG TERM ATHLETIC GOALS WITH NPAA?
I am hoping to achieve more exposure with the NPAA. Already, I have had amazing experiences in figure and fitness model categories, twice on the NPAA stage, I have received my Elite-Pro card in figure, I have made the poster advertising the October 25 2014 BC Championships, and now, I would love to be featured in the NPAA magazine and eventually achieve IFPA status!

WHY DID I CHOOSE TO COMPETE WITH NPAA? This year I took the stage for the NPAA Canada Classics for my second time. I love the organized and professional manner of the organization which is why I came back.WHO DO I HOPE TO INSPIRE? After competing, I started receiving a ton of messages from friends and even stranger who asked me how I did it, how I transformed my body, and what's my secret. People I never even met or some I never really talk too, told me how achieving my goals has inspired them to finally do the same and get into shape and feel good about their bodies. It would give me chills every time I'd receive a new message, because though I did train and compete for myself, I had no idea how I was actually helping others around me. If I don't ever place in a competition, or win a medal, the fact that doing what I love as hard as it is, inspires others to do the same, makes it all worth it.
MY FAVOURITE BODY GROUP TO TRAIN? My abs, because they popped more than ever this time, or my glutes. My glutes are the hardest to train because I have a lot of leaning out to do, but I love the results of it once I take the stage to compete!
MY FAVOURTIE CLEAN EATING SNACK? If I wasn't so addicted to peanut butter and I could control my intake a bit better, I'd chose that as my favourite clean eating snack, but I'll pick cucumbers dipped in cinnamon and stevia as my choice.

It is very important to me, as a professional, a single mother, and a volunteer soccer coach within the community (for my two young sons) that I compete with a federation that promotes natural fitness and adheres to strict drug testing protocols. Respectfully, NPAA actively adheres to the values of professionalism, integrity, excellence and community, and I respect this greatly.
WHO DO I HOPE TO INSPIRE?
It is my hope that I can inspire and motivate others to find their strength, by sharing my journey. I have faced extreme adversities, struggled with anxiety, low self-esteem, body image issues, and I’ve survived years of emotional, mental, verbal, physical and financial abuse from a very long and unhealthy long term relationship. Today, I see myself as a role model to other women, in my role as a professional career woman, mother, soccer coach, fitness athlete, and part-time Graduate student. I chose to compete after having my second baby. I wanted to get into the best shape I could after having kids. My close friend and colleague competed after her first and inspired me to go outside of my comfort zone and do something I never dreamed I would ever be able to do. I choose the NPAA because I wanted to keep my training all natural. I wanted to eat and train naturally.
WHO DO I HOPE TO INSPIRE?
Knowing how incredibly busy the life of a mom is I have also leaned how important it is to do something for myself. If I could inspire anyone I hope other moms can be inspired to just take some time for themselves whether that is to workout or just having some quiet down time to pick up a book read. Just find out what it is that is time all about you and schedule it in, it really makes an incredible difference.

WHY DID I CHOOSE TO COMPETE WITH NPAA? I had heard great things about NPAA from friends that had previously competed in NPAA. That the association had great sportsmanship and everyone involved worked very hard to make the competition fun for the competitors. After working so hard I wanted the day I competed to be fun, memorable and professional. On competition day everything ran smoothly and it was a truly incredible experience.WHO DO I HOPE TO INSPIRE? I had hoped to inspire friends, family and really anyone I met along my way from training leading up to the show to competition day. I’d hoped having people see me put myself out there and push my limits to achieve my dreams would inspire them to do the same. Be it stepping in the gym for the first time or taking the first step toward making a lifetime dream a reality.
MY FAVORITE BODY GROUP TO TRAIN? I love training my upper body, biceps and triceps in particular. I feel strong when I train my upper body. It also helps fuel me to keep up the training when other women approach me at the gym to complement me on my arms.
MY FAVORITE CLEAN EATING SNACK? My smoothie bowls, it’s like dessert for me! I’m known for loading up my smoothie and smoothie bowls was superfoods like goji berries, chai, cocoa beans and maca. Clean and delicious.

WHY DID I CHOOSE TO COMPETE WITH NPAA?I like that it is an all natural competition so everyone is on a even playing field, equal competition level, that there is strict guidelines and drug testing related to that. It is very organized, and also nice that it was close to home. I also liked that there are the height categories and the opportunities to advance. The atmosphere was great and everyone was so friendly and nice. I had also had a few friends compete with NPAA and they said it was a good one to do for my first time competing
WHO DO I HOPE TO INSPIRE?
all the girls/moms out there who don’t think they should take the time to make sure they are happy and healthy and want to feel good about themselves. I know we focus so much time taking care of everything else and others so if we can eat right and have an hour a day to ourselves to workout and thank our bodies then we should. i want the moms to know that they can do it with the right training, nutrition and coaches and support network. anything is possible and you can reach your goals!

well it may not be my favourite but I am working on my glutes and hamstrings a lot to bring up my butt so I have to say I am slowly enjoying those workouts more along with legs, it is making me feel better and stronger!

PHOTO CREDIT: TIM DARDIS PHOTOGRAPHY.WHY DID I CHOOSE TO COMPETE WITH THE NPAA? The main thing that drew me to the NPAA was the fact that it is a natural competition. Upon further investigation, I became hooked on the professionalism and friendly atmosphere.
WHO DO I HOPE TO INSPIRE? Everyone! Especially those struggling to gain weight, as I have been there. Doing competition prep opposite of “the norm” was definitely a mental battle!
MY FAVORITE BODY GROUP TO TRAIN? Shoulders. One of my weaker points, I love working hard to see improvement!
MY FAVORITE CLEAN EATING SNACK? Protein rice pudding. Simply mix rice with a small amount of water and a scoop of protein powder (S’mores and cookies and cream are the best!). I think I could eat this all day!
MY LONG TERM ATHLETIC GOAL WITH NPAA? As I am currently focusing on making lean gains in the off season, I plan to compete in the Canada Championships in the fall with a bigger and better physique! My goal is to earn my pro card with the NPAA and eventually become a nationally qualified athlete =)

I chose to compete with the NPAA because I was inspired by my friend NPAA Bikini Elite Pro Kyla Gagnon. In the gym she's a force to be reckoned with. I've only ever heard positive things about the NPAA from her. Integrity being of the utmost importance to the organization is the clincher.
WHO DO I HOPE TO INSPIRE?
I want to inspire anyone who has ever felt shame for their body. Anyone who has ever felt "not good enough" in any aspect of their life. Building your body into something you are proud of is the most amazing feeling. I think the part of my fitness journey I am the most grateful for is being able to look at those I used to yearn to look like and be able to say "I prefer my body". I can finally watch a Hollywood movie or look in a magazine and not feel ugly because I now love what I have. I now love the body I built. If I can inspire others to build that for themselves, that is success.
MY FAVORITE BODY GROUP TO TRAIN?
Glutes. Glute-day favorite-day!
MY FAVORITE CLEAN EATING SNACK?
I make this amazing chocolate protein cake using egg whites, oats, Magnum Quattro Chocolate Loooove and a bit of stevia and it's just amaze-fest. I'm also a huge fan of oat pancakes with banana and peanut butter and Quattro Vanilla. Really just any conglomeration of the above ingredients makes me food happy.
MY LONG TERM ATHLETIC GOALS WITH NPAA?
I have so may achievements I'm aiming for. I would like to step on stage better than last time, every time. To continue to inspire others. I've been coaching myself and have had many people approach me asking for advice with contest prep and just everyday fitness and nutrition. I'd like to further my education with nutrition and training so I can be even more helpful to people seeking the fitlife. Of course I would also like to earn my Bikini Pro Card and a sponsorship (hopefully with Magnum).

I chose to compete with NPAA because I was looking for a federation that would make my first show fun and exciting. I had heard amazing things about past NPAA shows and wanted to be part of it all. From the volunteers, to the Wendy and Kevin, the stage managers, every one kept telling me how organized, and on time the shows always were. I wanted to feel comfortable and be able to enjoy each moment of my first show to the fullest, meet new friends and create amazing memories.
WHO DO I HOPE TO INSPIRE?
That mom who feels lost. With two boys it was starting to feel like my whole life revolved around being a mom. I didn't have much for myself, and it was a lonely place. I want to be able to show all the moms out there who are in that place that they can have something. They can still be someone other than just mom. It is hard to imagine getting your body back after having two babies. But it is possible, and I want to show all the moms out there that it is.

MY FAVORITE CLEAN EATING SNACK?
Rice cakes with toffee peanut butter and strawberry jam. Yum! I could eat them all day!
MY LONG TERM ATHLETIC GOALS WITH NPAA?
I want, no wait, I WILL walk the pro-elite stage! It's going to happen! Why do I want this? For a couple reasons I guess. But the main reason is because it shows me I can. Sometimes I set goals and then I think to myself "really?! you really think you can do this?!". It is a lot of work to be stage ready. Prep, training, all of it. It's not always fun. But the fact that I can put all of that aside and keep my eyes on the goal shows myself how strong I really am. And I am proud of that. Competing with the Pro's is like the ultimate high five to myself. Kind of like "Yes, you did it, and you DESERVE to be here".

WHY DID I CHOOSE TO COMPETE WITH NPAA?I chose NPAA because it was an all natural association, and I am a strong believer in that. Also knew that NPAA was family oriented and that really stood out to me as a mom of four beautiful kids ages 17, 14, 12, and 9. I wanted to present a physique that was all natural and stand up there representing all mom out there who sacrifices her body for the birth of her children.
WHO DO I HOPE TO INSPIRE?
I want to inspire anyone who reads my story, anyone out there who thinks that there isn't any hope to change their health and fitness around no matter what their situation. Moms, Dads, kids, Friends, Family, and complete strangers. If I can do this, anyone can!! You make the decision to change, make those sacrifices, find your discipline, dedicate yourself and get that passion! Set some goals and work hard each day towards then big or small. Along the way I promise you will fall and have to pick yourself back up but you will get there! Strong Mind, Strong Body!
MY FAVORITE BODY PART TO TRAIN?
Of course my glutes, claves and shoulders!! I love seeing small details carve themselves out when you add in clean nutrition and hard work at the gym!
MY FAVORITE CLEAN EATING SNACK?
Well for summer, I love some Plain Greek Yogurt, 1/2 cup mixed fresh berries drizzled with some Waldens chocolate sauce. Also I love anything I can have with some natural Almond Butter!!
WHAT DO I WANT TO ACHIEVE WITH NPAA, SOME LONG TERM GOALS?
I would love to compete again with NPAA, bring a better package to stage, and bring along all my friends and family to the show this time!! Athletic goals, would be to compete and one day maybe even win that PRO Card! :)

NPAA is the most competitor friendly and drug free organization. Everyone made me feel so welcomed and comfortable from the day of the workshop to the moment of going on stage. As a professional dancer and now a fitness competition, I see myself as an ambassador of a healthy and active lifestyle. Through my actions (more than words), I try to lead by example. I truly believe that everything is possible if you are passionate about something and work hard for it. I want to prove that in everything that I do in my life.
WHO DO I HOPE TO INSPIRE?
Something that I thought would be my personal challenge turned into inspirational journey for many of my friends. I never thought that my personal goal of building muscles and walking on stage in bikini would be such a motivator for others. Yet, I realized that isn't only about me. The hard work, dedication, the time management, the energy management are just some of the aspect of competing. I am happy that though my active lifestyle, I am inspiring my friends to challenge themselves everyday and to live healthier and more active lives.

MY FAVORITE CLEAN EATING SNACK? It would have to be greek yogurt with berries. I love fruits in every shape and form, making the prep process challenging at times. But adding a bit of berries to my greek yogurt/cottage cheese combo hit the spot every time.
MY LONG TERM ATHLETIC GOALS WITH NPAA?
I want to show my girlfriends that they do not have to starve themselves or go on "fad" diets to look and feel great. I want to show them that even with very busy schedule, there is always room for exercise and healthy food choices. It is easy to make excuses for ourselves, but I want to see them take action and be accountable for their decisions and choices. I found this process much easier as I was acceptable for it to many people that followed my journey to the stage.

WHO DO I HOPE TO INSPIRE?
I hope to inspire athletes who haven’t competed before but have thought about doing a competition. I was so nervous to get up on stage but once I got up there it felt so natural and good to showcase the body I had worked so hard for.

Raw veggies; since I can remember I have always taken a baggie full of raw veggies in my lunch.

I chose to compete with the NPAA because I believe whole heartedly in what the association stands for. Before competing, I attended one of their pre-competition workshops to get a feel for the association and I was blown away by how helpful, down to earth, professional, personable and supportive the NPAA Team was. Prior to registering for a show, I had specific questions about competing within the association and my inquiries were answered promptly in full. I felt as though the Team wanted me to feel prepared and supported as an athlete in my personal fitness pursuit. Not only does the NPAA have a mission statement and vision that resonates with my fitness goals, it is evident by the way the association operates that they intend to stick to their mission, their set values and want only the best for the future of the sport, as well as the athletes. Who wouldn’t want to be a part of this amazing community!
WHO DO I HOPE TO INSPIRE?
I hope to inspire people of all ages regardless of where they are in their personal health and fitness journey. My hope is to excite others to treat their body to clean nutrient sources and to enjoy various forms of exercise. Our bodies are natural machines; I say why not give them all the tools we can to help build and allow them to operate as well and efficiently as possible!

Without a doubt, health and fitness is my passion and ‘this is our sport’!

I chose NPAA as I am a strong believer that to compete in ANY sport you must be natural and in that the NPAA was a great organization to compete in. Also, I was advised by my trainer that the NPAA was a fantastic organization to compete in and must say that after my experience I must agree.
WHO DO I HOPE TO INSPIRE?
I hope to inspire my three daughters (aged 9,5 and 3) to try new and possibly non-traditional sports and to push themselves to excel no matter how uncomfortable it may be. I am not known as the girl who enjoys being in a tiny bathing suit and heels but I do enjoy molding and shaping my body to its optimum. I also hope to inspire similar people to follow a healthy lifestyle and to be a model for their family.
MY FAVORITE BODY GROUP TO TRAIN?
I have a love/hate relationship with training my legs. I love the pump and feeling of accomplishment when I train legs but have had issues with locking my jaw and neck pain from the pressure of the squat bar and its weight.
MY FAVORITE CLEAN EATING SNACK?
My favorite clean eating snack is cottage cheese mixed with blueberries and kamut puffs and protein powder. This is an excellent bedtime snack.
MY LONG TERM ATHLETIC GOALS WITH NPAA?
My long term goal with NPAA is to become an IFPA Pro and become a sponsored athlete so that I can compete at the highest level possible.

I chose to compete with the NPAA because I was looking for an organization that provided me a platform to compete and put an emphasis on competing as a natural athlete-this is something that is really important to me as I am proud to call myself a natural athlete. I had also heard wonderful things about Kevin and Wendy and was not disappointed. They are professional and demonstrate a lot of integrity which is reflective in their organization and competitors.
WHO DO I HOPE TO INSPIRE? I hope to inspire people who don’t think they have time to dedicate to a sport. My only affiliation with the fitness industry is as a competitor-I have a full life outside of this and am hoping to inspire others who feel like it’s too much to work in an office job and compete and find that balance. To me this is part of a life style that I enjoy, but again, it is only a part-balance is very key to me.

My first competition was May of 2013 with NPAA and I was inspired to compete with NPAA by the wonderful feedback I had gotten from competitors who had previously competed with NPAA. The organization is welcoming, encouraging and extremely helpful. Kevin, Wendy and their wonderful staff made my decision to continue to compete with NPAA easy. After my first appearance with NPAA I made another in their BC Classic show this previous May and am currently prepping to compete again, with NPAA!
WHO DO I HOPE TO INSPIRE?
Individuals who are about to start or are looking to start prep for a show and provide evidence that anybody can successfully accomplish prep, all the mental strength competition prep requires, you are capable of making it through. Most of all that a natural and healthy prep is the perfect prep.

MY LONG TERM ATHLETIC GOAL WITH NPAA?
The two years I have been apart of NPAA I have achieved a solid basis to the long-term athletic goals I have for myself. In my most recent show I was awarded a photo shoot with Ron Perron of Arsenik West Photo for "Most Marketable Athlete" in was an utmost honour to be recognized as marketable, let alone most marketable in the entire show. My photo shoot with Ron was my first professional photo shoot where I found myself loving the feeling of being in front of the camera. I would like to use my passion for fitness and my will to obtaining a admirable physique to market fitness and healthy living to my peers, grow my peers and play a role in motivating others to make healthy choices. Ultimately, my biggest goal is to accomplish a marketable physique and motivate others to reach their own fitness goals.
