Program Selected: Watkins Emergency Shelter
Matthew 25 Project has served meals the 3rd Saturday of every month for the past 16 years both at Watkins and at UMOM’s shelter campus. The Scottsdale Bible Church mission group has touched the hearts of countless women, families and children. They provide warm meals, prayer and fellowship to the homeless, and share UMOM’s mission with new volunteers every week. Their heartfelt and impactful service makes Matthew 25 a UMOM Champion!

Program Selected: Youth and afterschool programs
UMOM Women's Auxiliary was founded in 2005 to bring together a group of women to support UMOM's mission of ending homelessness. Over the past 9 years they have raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for UMOM's programs through the Walk for Homeless Families and Birdsong luncheon. Members volunteer their time in many ways at UMOM including serving meals, reading to children, and sorting donations. Their generous hearts and willing hands make the Women's Auxiliary UMOM Champions!

Program Selected: Child Development Center
Kathy is a longtime volunteer at UMOM, working with children and youth in UMOM’s Child Development Center and afterschool programs. Kathy utilized her skills and passion for physical activity and education and volunteered to teach PE to the children at UMOM. She has been a true asset to the children's programs by raising funds for much needed classroom supplies and PE Equipment. She also has supported UMOM through The Board of Visitors that has funded UMOM's wellness center. Kathy’s passion for volunteering with homeless children makes her a UMOM champion!

Bob and Joan have been involved with UMOM since the beginning. From supporting UMOM at Paradise Valley United Methodist Church, working in the clothing closet, serving on UMOM's Board of Directors, and Joan as a founding member of the Women's Auxiliary. Bob and Joan have been invaluable to UMOM over the years. They have consistently shared UMOM’s mission with friends, family and associates who positively impact the agency. Their long term commitment to ending homelessness makes them a UMOM champion!

In spirit of UMOM's 50th Anniversary, we asked supporters to nominate people who are champions for UMOM. We received over a hundred amazing UMOM champion nominations and while every nomination is worthy of the title, a panel of judges selected the 5 finalists below.
Now you have the opportunity to vote for your favorite UMOM champion and UMOM program they have selected to receive the $20,000 in program funding. The winner will be announced on November 6th at the Breakfast of Champions celebrating UMOM's 50th Anniversary.
